Mary Poppins

In London there is a small family called the banks. There two children always annoy there nannies, so they always quit. Until one nanny changes it all. The film "May Poppins", written by Bill Walsh and based on the books by P.L. Travers, is an amazing film that shows the importance of being a family and spending time with your family. As nanny after nanny quit, one shall change the family forever.

In this film where every nanny shall quit but one, there is the mode of romance all around. This film is to be called romantic because of the mild conflicts scattered throughout the story and the new beginning for the family that occurs at the end. Some of these include the fact that the father spends little to no time with his children or how the bank wants the children's money to make the bank richer. Also the children want to feed the birds with their tuppence. Unfortunately the father wants them to not waste there tuppence on the birds and put their money toward something useful. Mild conflicts like these can effect people in a lot of ways.

In this romantic movie there are a lot of unique and interesting characters. The main family consists of Mr. & Mrs. Banks and there two children, Jane and Michal. Both of the parents go out during the day so they need someone to watch their children while they are out. After time the nannies they hire will quit because the children want to have fun but the nannies won't let them. After time one new nanny comes that is different then the others, her name is, Marry Poppins. Marry Poppins also has a friend that lives in London, his name is Bert. He is a chimney sweep therefore he knows all of the other chimney sweeps.

Equally important to the characters are the symbols. There are lots of symbols scattered throughout the film. One is the carpet bag of Mary Poppins, and another is the letter that the children wrote. One great symbol is the bird lady and she resembles poverty and even though that some people are poor, they can still be happy. The letter that the children wrote for the advertisement was ripped up and thrown into the fireplace, but they flew up the chimney and made their way to Mary Poppins. This symbolizes the magic that Mary Poppins brings with her.

Furthermore, the one nanny that changes the family is obviously Mary Poppins. After time the father loses his job due to the children, but when he is at the bank he remembers the magical word Mary Poppins has taught the kids, Supercalifragilisticxpialidocious. This makes him forget that he is losing his job and makes him swell with happiness like a ballon being filled with air. If you could have magic like Mary Poppins, what would you do?
